KOHESI DAN KOHERENSI TEKS SYAIR SURAT KAPAL VERSI ANANG KASIM

Abstract

Cohesion and coherence is very important to be studied in determining cohesionand coherence of text that influence textual quality of Syair Surat Kapal. This researchwas aimed at uncovering the means of cohesion and coherence to be used indetermining the quality of Syair Surat Kapal text of Anang Kasim version. This researchmethod is descriptive analysis. The data found was analysed based on the means ofcohesion and coherence. From the data analysis, it was found that the using ofcohesion means pronoun, substition, ellipsis, conjunction, lexical, and particle. Themeans of lexical consist of repetition, synonym' and antonym. The means of coherencefound are chronological order, pronoun, repetition, synonym, stress, contrast, location,and time. This research shows that the means of cohesion and coherence used haveclose relationship in expressing the meaning. The means of coherence show that therelation of series of ideas is arranged regularly and logically. From the logical meaningrelation of cohesion and coherence, it can be formulated that Syair Surat Kapal text ofAnang Kasim version has good quality.
