Abstract


ABSTRACT: This research aimed at evaluating the profile of professional teachers (onedecade after the implementation of education and training of teachers’ certification). Thesample of this research was the teachers who have teaching certificates with the amount of367 located within Riau Province. The research findings showed that there were several aspectsthat should be taken into account such as hard to meet 24 hours (compulsory) of teachingper week; reduction of certification fund due to bad health and apologize; mediocrelevel of knowledge in information technology the mastery of teaching materials, structure,concepts, and mindset; reflective action for the development of learning quality; as wellas the utilization of information technology & communication dealing with selfdevelopment; and low creativity in material development. Besides, teachers also haveless supports in terms library collections, and unfair opprtunities for training recruitment.Hypothesis testing revealed that there was no significant difference in the profile of professionalteachers viewed from the aspects of level of school, districts, certificates, school subjects, yearof certificates, genders, teaching experience, and academic qualification.
