TINGKAT KOGNITIF (PENGETAHUAN) GURU SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA (SLTP) NEGERI DI PROVINSI RIAU TENTANG KONSEP PENILAIAN BERBASIS KELAS : SATU PENILAIAN
Abstract
This research is aimed at finding out the cognitive level of the sate SMP teachers toward the concept of classroom-based assessment. The sample respondentswere 297 English teachers taken from 11 cities/regencies within Riau Province. Theprocedure of the research was administered by inviting them to give an opinion througha set of questionnaire containing statements on cognitive aspects towards the concept ofclassroom-based assessment. This kind of data collection is known as Context, Input,Process and Product (CIPP) created by Stufflebeam et.al(1971). Data analysis wascalculated in descriptive method using SPSS Version 11.5, that is, by describing thepercentage, min score as well as the standard deviation. Data calculation described thatthe lowest min score was 3.2949 with the standard deviation 0.63; while the highestone was 3.5539 with the standard deviation 0.53. As a result, the average min score was3.4244 with the standard deviation 0.5866. Based on this calculation, it could beconcluded that the cognitive level of state SMP English teachers within Riau Provincetowards the concept of classroom-based assessment was in 'mediocre' level, particularly,on the aspects of introduction, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis', andevaluation.
